Ballet Dancer Engagement Photos in Richmond

Izabella and Khaiyom’s session was unique becaue it was a Richmond engagement photo session with ballet dancers!

The couple met when they were both in Russia attending ballet school. They actually ‘officially' married seven years ago before they left Russia because knew they wanted a future together and that marriage would ensure that they wouldn’t be separated.

These two are now professional ballet dancers with the Richmond Ballet. I had so much fun with them as they danced their way through the VMFA together!

I loved shooting with them in the lounge where you can see the Richmond Museum District neighborhood behind them. It looks a bit like they’re dancing on air above the city.

Another favorite location was a gallery that was painted pink and reminded me a bit of a theatrical stage set. Pretty appropriate for a couple who met because of, and spends much of their time on the stage! (And I love the color story and symmetry of those shots.)

We also shot in the Marble Hall and original staircase. What a perfect way to spend a rainy fall afternoon!

I can’t wait for Izabella & Khaiyom’s Historic Post Office wedding celebration next summer!
