Elena & Matt’s Willard InterContinental Wedding and Holy Rosary Church ceremony was romantic and elegant, with nods to the bride’s Syrian heritage woven throughout. I’m so excited that this beautiful wedding was featured in Carats & Cake!
Elena & Matt met through a mutual friend in January 2020. Afterward, they began to see each other on the metro all the time and later realized they had the exact same commute every day! Matt asked Elena out, and the rest, as they say, is history!
Elena & Matt’s day started at The Willard where they both got ready and took photos with their family. Then they headed to Holy Rosary Church for their beautiful wedding ceremony, Matt’s eyes glistening with tears as Elena walked down the aisle toward him.
After their ceremony, we headed to the National Cathedral and Bishop’s Garden to take family and couple portraits. We had built plenty of time into the timeline and had such a wonderful time with just the lead photographer (me!) and videographer in the garden with the couple. (Always share your vision with your planner and photo/video team. If we know what you want, we can make sure we have enough time to capture it!)
We captured the most beautiful light for their portraits as the sun began to set. And then we headed back to the Willard Hotel for the couple’s reception.
The ballroom looked amazing, and the couple’s Syrian Hype Entrance into the room was so fun and filled with such great energy! The couple were surrounded on the dance floor with drummers and guests joined in the dancing to kick off the reception.
Afterward, guests enjoyed an incredible dinner and then the formal dances got underway. Elena & Matt’s romantic dance was made even more so with all the smoke that enveloped the dance floor, accented by a cold spark display!
Elena & Matt, I absolutely loved working with you both. Your welcome party and wedding day were so fun and filled with love, laughter, and lots of dancing! Thanks for letting me be part of the fun!
