Capitol Hill Engagement Photos at US Capitol and Library of Congress | DC Engagement Photographer
Lizzie & Eric will be having a DAR wedding in DC this fall, and they knew they wanted classic DC engagement photos on Capitol Hill, too. We started off early in the morning at Capitol Hill, at the eastern end of the National Mall, stopping at the US Capitol and Library of Congress.
We beat the crowds and had both locations all to ourselves. I loved photographing at The Capitol and The Library of Congress—the marble acts as a natural reflector for the light, and the architecture makes a stunning backdrop!
The US Capitol is neoclassical in its design, reflecting Roman & Greek influences. And right across the street, the Library of Congress is an excellent example of Beaux Arts architecture popular in France. After visiting Capitol Hill, we made our way to the Parisian-inspired restaurant, Le Diplomate, where we grabbed a few photos before Lizzie
& Eric enjoyed Brunch.
I’m so excited for Lizzie & Eric’s DAR wedding in September! I really love the architecture at DAR and have been wanting to photograph a wedding there. (I’ve photographed at several other John Russell Pope-designed buildings including DC's Jefferson Memorial and Meridian House, the Baltimore Museum of Art, Richmond’s Branch Museum, and Science Museum of Virginia!)
I’ll include the Le Diplomate photos in a separate blog post and add that link below. For now, enjoy a few of my favorite images from Lizzie & Eric’s DC engagement photos!
